Accessing Twilio Number Settings

To begin, you’ll need to access the Twilio number settings within your CRM account. Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Navigate to the bottom left of your CRM dashboard and click on “Settings.”
  2. In the settings menu, select “Phone Numbers” to view your Twilio numbers.

Deleting a Twilio Number

Once you’re in the “Phone Numbers” section, you’ll notice each number has a corresponding trash icon. This icon is used to remove a Twilio number from your account. Follow these steps to delete a Twilio number:

  1. Click on the three dots button next to the number you wish to remove.
  2. A confirmation prompt will appear, asking you to type “delete” to confirm the action.
  3. After typing “delete,” another pop-up will ask if you want to release this number.

Understanding Number Release

Releasing a Twilio number means it is removed from your account and made available for others to purchase. However, it’s important to note:

  • Once released, the number will move to the “Released Phone Numbers” section within your Twilio console page.
  • If you change your mind, you can buy back the number, provided it hasn’t been purchased by someone else.
  • If it’s been more than 10 days since the release, you may need to contact Twilio support to retrieve the number.

Resetting Twilio Number’s Webhook

In some cases, you might not want to release the number but simply reset its webhook. This is useful if you encounter issues and need to reset the number’s configuration. Here’s how:

  1. Instead of confirming the release, select “No” to cancel the release process.
  2. Click on the “Add” button again to reset the Twilio number’s webhook.

This option is particularly useful for sub-accounts using their own Twilio account and needing a quick reset.
